Alexander Roßbach grew up in Frankfurt an der Oder (Brandenburg), where, after graduating from high school and doing community service, he learned the journalistic tools as a trainee in an advertising and weekly newspaper. At the same time, he attended the Ostkreuz School for Photography and Design (OKS) in Berlin-Weißensee on weekends from 2007-2009. This was followed by study visits to Darmstadt, Dresden and Bamberg, through which he specialized in political field analysis (M.A.). Two internships – one with a foreign correspondent in Madrid and the other with a photo designer in Bamberg – complete his photojournalistic profile. He devotes himself to reportage and portrait topics. The works reflect the interest in society, the outcomes of policy regulations, economic developments, cultural and social life. Furthermore, he captures visual content for two independent theatre stages and is a long-distance runner. He has been a member of the German Association of Journalists (DJV) for 15 years. He is represented by the agencies VISUM (Munich) – Germany’s oldest photography agency – and imago (Berlin).
